I just received my Dell Inspiron 3800 and Linux Mandrake 7.2 installed just fine
for the most part. I just completed the task as of Monday. There are some
issues with the soundcard and permissions rights, but the main install went
okay. It detected my PCMCIA lan card okay and I was able to get most things
going within 1 hour of the installation.

Just be aware that this laptop contains the Maestro 3i soundcard which is not
fully supported in most kernels yet. There are workarounds, but I have not
gotten the sound to work quite yet.
