I'm currently running Mandrake 7.2 with the 2.2.17 kernel. I want to
compile a new kernel, but keep either my default configuration or
whatever the 7.2 default configuration for the kernel is. (mine SHOULD
still be the default as I haven't changed anything). I have gotten the
kernel to compile, but things like USB, Soundcard, and PCMCIA Network
cards are not working for me. I get errors on startup with the devices
with the new kernel. Is there something special I have to do to get
the kernel to work with these things? If I could just use the same
kernel configuration that I am using now with this new kernel things
would probably be great.
