The yamaha ds-xg chipset for the sound card doesn't work correctly with
any ALSA drivers up to 5.9d. There is a bug in those versions that make
the sound repeat during the playback of files and basically makes it too
annoying to let it proceed. i download the new 5.10 drivers but couldn't
get them to compile with kernel 2.4 so I cant say whether the driver for
the yamaha chipset has been fixed yet.

As for the modem i doubt u will get it working. i have a pc card 33.6
modem im gonna use as soon as I find the cable for it.

I have the neomagic chipset for my card and it uses the standard svga
driver so i cant help u with the graphics, sorrry.
