   The problem is in France: there are not that many
laptops (except in big companies), so there's not a high
market demand for laptop RAM.

   The only difference between a standard SDRAM and a
laptop SDRAM is the board holding the chips. For a laptop
these are called SO-DIMM and they come with two different
pin counts.

you will find the following prices:

        64 MB SDRAM PC 100 SO-DIMM at 35.09 BP

and

        64 MD SDRAM PC 100 at 24.29 BP.
